A Ring Of Darkness
Meet Jack Clayton Jr. A young man who has everything one could ask for. Money, a leisure job in the family business, never ending good times with his best friend Roger, fast women, faster cars, and he’s being groomed for power by his parents.
His father has been a popular State Representative, and is now the frontrunner in the upcoming Senate election. His high powered mother Stella, is a hotel heiress, and positioning herself for a corporate takeover of the Excelsior Hotels . The Excelsior Hotels have always held the lucrative State lodging business, which conflict of interest has kept the Clayton’s from having.
Jack Sr. and Stella have it all worked out. Once Jack Sr. becomes a Senator, the corporate takeover of the Excelsior Hotels, and their State contracts, will be forced into place. The Excelsior’s will then be turned over to the new wife of Jack. Jr. A wife that has been personally hand picked by Stella.
Enter Miss Chloe Peterson. A great catch, from a well off family. Any young man would jump at the chance to have Chloe, any young man except Jack.
Jack wants no part of an arranged marriage, and spends his time going from one woman to the next. Never has he felt true love, only bought instant relationships that burn bright, then burn out, at about the same rate as the back tires on his Ferrari.
The rebellion against his mother’s wishes begins, only to be countered by threat of a not so bright future, when Jack gets a DUI the competition will surely use in the polls against his father. Just when Jack thinks his lifestyle has caught up with him, a chance meeting with a drop-dead gorgeous florist named Elaine changes everything.
Now Jack is truly in love, with a common woman his corporate minded mother does not approve of, and the real trouble begins, or so it seems. To impress his newfound love, Jack buys her an incredibly expensive ring, which turns deadly, for more reasons than one. Then again, could this simply be dirty politics at its finest?
